Peace in His Presence
January 2010 will be very busy for Ruth and her
family.  Ruth will be preparing for her transplant.  
Almost everyday will be a visit to the Cancer
Center with admission to Jackson Memorial BMT
Unit on Friday the 15th.   The transplant is
scheduled for January 21, 2010 in the evening.

I pray that these devotions will bless your heart
as they did ours.  It teaches us to surrender
completely to Jesuschrist and what it means to
have physical, emotional, spiritual healing and
trusting totally to Him.  
Come to me with a teachable spirit,
eager to be changed.  A close walk with
Me is  a life of  continual newness.  Do not
cling to old ways as you step into a new
year.  Instead, seek My Face with an open
mind, knowing that your journey with Me
involves being transformed by the
renewing of your mind.  As you focus your
thoughts on Me, be aware that I am fully
attentive to you.  I see you with a steady
eye, because my attention span is infinite.  
I know and understand you completely.  My
thoughts embrace you in everlasting Love.  
I also know the plans I have for you, plans
to prosper you and not to harm you, plans
to give you hope and a future.  Give
yourself fully to this adventure of increasing
attentiveness to My Presence.
Romans 12:2 and Jeremiah 29:11.
Relax in My Healing Presence.  As you spend time with me your thoughts tend to jump ahead to today's
plans and problems.  Bring your mind back to Me for refreshment and renewal.  Let the Light of My Presence
soak into you, as you focus your thoughts on Me.  Thus I equip you to face whatever the day brings.  This
sacrifice of time pleases Me and strengthens you.  Do not skimp on our time together.  Resist the clamor of tasks
waiting to be done.  You have chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from you.
Psalm 105:4 - Luke 10:30-42
You can achieve the victorious life through living
in deep dependence on Me.
People usually associate victory with success, not falling or
stumbling, not making mistakes.  But those who are
successful in their own strength tend to go their own way,
forgetting about Me.  It is through problems and failure,
weakness and neediness that you learn to rely on Me.  True
dependence is not simply asking Me to bless what you have
decided to do.  It is coming to Me with an open mind and
heart, inviting Me to plant my desires within you.  I may
infuse within you a dream that seems far beyond your
reach.   You know that in yourself you cannot achieve such
a goal, thus begins your journey of profound reliance on Me.
 It is a faith-walk, taken one step at a time, leaning on Me
as much as you need.  This is not a path of continual
success but of multiple failures.  However, each failure is
followed by a growth spurt, nourished by increased reliance
on Me.  Enjoy the blessedness of a victorious life, through
deepening your dependence on Me.
Psalm 34: 17 - 18; 2 Corinthians 5:7
I am able to do far beyond all that you
ask or imagine.  
Come to Me with positive
expectations, knowing that there is no limit to
what I can accomplish.  Ask My Spirit to control
your mind, so that you can think great thoughts
of Me.  Do not be discourage by the fact that
many of your prayers are yet unanswered.  
Time is a trainer, teaching you to wait upon Me,
to trust Me in the dark.  The more extreme your
circumstances, the more likely you are to see My
Power and Glory at work in the situation.  
Instead of letting difficulties draw you into
worrying, try to view them as setting the scene
for My glorious intervention.  Keep your eyes
and your mind wide open to all that I am doing
in your life.

Let me prepare you for the day that stretches
out before you.
I know exactly what this day will
contain, whereas you have only vague ideas about it.  
You would like to see a map, showing all the twists and
turns of your journey.  You'd feel more prepared if you
could somehow visualize what is on the road ahead.  
However, there is a better way to be prepared for
whatever you will encounter today; Spend quality time
with Me.  I will not show you what is on the road
ahead, but I will thoroughly equip you for the
journey.  My living Presence is your Companion
each step of the way, Stay in continual
communication with Me, whispering My Name
whenever you need to redirect your thoughts.  
Thus, you can walk through this day with your
focus on Me.  My abiding Presence is the best road
map available.
Approach this day with awareness of who is boss.  As you make plans for the day, remember that it is
I who orchestrate the events of your life.  On days when things go smoothly, according to your plans, you
may be unaware of My sovereign Presence.  On days when your plans are thwarted, be on the lookout for
essential at such times to stay in communication with Me, accepting My way as better than yours,  Don't try to
figure out what is happening.  Simply trust Me and thank Me in advance for the good that will come out of it
all.  I know the plans I have for you and they are good.  Isaiah 55:9; Jeremiah 29:11
I want you to be all mine.  I am  
weaning you from other dependencies.  
Your security rest in Me alone - not in other
people, not in circumstances.  Depending
only on Me may feel like walking on a
tightrope, but there is a safety net
underneath; the everlasting arms.  So don't
be afraid of falling.  Instead, look ahead to
Me.  I am always before you, beckoning you
on - one step at a time.  Neither height nor
depth, nor anything else in all creation, can
separate you from my loving Presence.
It's all right to be human.  When your mind wanders while you are praying, don't be surprised or
upset.  Simply return your attention to Me.  Share a secret smile with Me, knowing that I understand.  
assured that I will never leave you or forsake you.  Intersperse these peaceful interludes abundantly
throughout your day.  This practice will enable you to attain a quiet and gentle spirit, which is pleasing
to Me.

As you live in close contact with Me, the Light of My Presence filters through you to bless others.  Your
weakness and woundedness are the opening through which the Light of the knowledge of My Glory
shines forth.  My strength and power show themselves most effective in your weakness.

Let my love unfold you in the radiance of My
Glory.  Sit still in the Light of My Presence, and
receive My Peace.  These quiet moments with Me
transcend time, accomplishing far more than you
can imagine.  Bring Me the sacrifice of your time,
and watch to see how abundantly
I bless you and your loved ones.

being transformed from the inside out.  As you
keep your focus on Me, I form you into the one I
desire you to be.  Your part is to yield to My
creative work in you, neither resisting it nor trying
to speed it up.  Enjoy the tempo of a God-breathed
life by letting Me set the pace.  Hold My hand in
Through the intimacy of our relationship, you are
childlike trust, and the way before you will open up
step by step.
Have you thought about how big your God is today? Do you realize you have the Creator of the universe on
your side? He's the God who spoke the worlds into existence. He's called the Great I Am. He's saying today,
"I am everything you need. I am your strength. I am your wisdom. I am your protection. I am your provider.
I am your way maker. I am your problem solver. I am your dream giver. I am your victory!"

David put it this way in Psalm 138, "Though I am surrounded by troubles, You will bring me safely through.
Your fist is clenched against my enemies. Your power will save me." Maybe you feel like David today. You're
surrounded by all kinds of difficulties. You're tempted to just settle right where you are. But you need to get
your fire back. Instead of focusing on how big your problems are, focus on how big your God is! He is
everything you need. He is the Great I AM, and He is the one leading and guiding you into victory in every
area of your life!
Father in heaven, thank You for loving me and
setting me free. I choose to focus on Your greatness
today. Thank You for being the I Am—
everything that I need to live the life of victory.

Trust God to Do it His Way

"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than
your thoughts"
(Isaiah 55:9, NIV)

Every person has things they're believing for, situations they want to see changed, and dreams God has
placed in their hearts. But sometimes, we try to figure out how it's all going to happen. If we're not careful,
we'll put God in a box and try to tell Him how to do it, when to do it, and where to do it. Today's scripture
tells us that God's ways are not our ways. They are higher and better than our ways.

If you don't get your way, if things don't happen on your timetable, instead of getting discouraged, why
don't you believe that God has something better in store? Just because it doesn't happen your way doesn't
mean it's not going to happen. Remember, God has a plan. He's got it all figured out. Don't limit Him by
trying to get it done your way. Instead, simply say, "God, I'm trusting You. I know You have my best interest
at heart. And even if I don't get my way, I'm going to stay open and believe that You're still directing my
steps into the abundant life You have for me."
Heavenly Father, I choose to trust You. I
cast my cares on You. I give You my plans,
You for working behind the scenes on my
behalf. Give me Your peace as I wait
patiently to see Your plan unfold. In Jesus'
Name. Amen.
See His Goodness

"I am confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living"
(Psalm 27:13, NIV)

David was going through tough times when he made the declaration in today's verse. Things weren't going
his way. But he said in effect, "I'm not worried. I'm not upset. I am confident I will see God's goodness." In
other words, "This situation I'm in may be rough, but that's not going to steal my vision. That's not going to
cause me to give up on my dreams. I am confident that this year, I will see God's favor in a new way."

That's what our attitude needs to be today because what you focus on is what you will see. No matter what
the medical report says, no matter what your finances look like, no matter how bad that relationship may
seem, be confident that you will see His goodness! He is the all-powerful, omniscient, Creator of the
Universe, and He holds you in the palm of His hand. Nothing is too difficult for Him. Take hold of this truth by
faith and focus on His goodness today. Allow His peace to settle in your heart and mind as you move
forward in His blessing all the days of your life!
Father in heaven, thank You for Your
goodness in my life. I choose to focus on You
may look like. Give me Your peace as I keep
my mind stayed on You.

Nothing is Wasted

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called
according to His purpose"
(Romans 8:28, NIV)

Life can be full of ups and downs, twists and turns. We've all had to face challenges and difficulties. But did
you know that everything you've been through up until now is getting you prepared for what God is going to
do in your future? Nothing in your life has been wasted. Every disappointment, every setback, every person
that did you wrong, every lonely night, God is going to turn around and use for your good!

During the difficult times, we grow and mature. That's when our faith is stretched and our character is
developed. God didn't send that hardship, but He'll use it to get you prepared for your next step. Those
adversities will help make you and mold you into the person you are called to be.

You may be experiencing tough times today, but remember, nothing is ever wasted. Have the attitude that
says, "This is a new day. Things are shifting in my favor. This difficulty is not going to stop me. It's going to
promote me. It was meant to bring me down, but I know the truth; God is going to use it to lift me up and
lead me into victory all the days of my life."
Father God, thank You for drawing me close
to You. I choose to dwell in the secret place of
Your presence. I know that with You,
nothing in my life is wasted. Thank You for
Your peace and protection as You carry me
through the difficult places into the place of
victory. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
His Thoughts toward You

"How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they
outnumber the grains of sand!"
(Psalm 139:17-18, NLT)

Did you know God is thinking about you right now? He thinks about you constantly. You are always on His
mind. Do you know what He's thinking? He's not thinking about all that you've done wrong in your life. No,
He's thinking about the good things He has in store for your future. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that His thoughts
are for our good. His plans are to prosper us and give us a future and a hope.

Do you know what else He's thinking? He's thinking about how much He loves you. He's not mad at you; He's
madly in love with you! Let that love bring security to your heart and mind. Just take a deep breath right now
and breathe in His love and peace. The Bible says that perfect love casts out all fear. When you receive His
love, it drives out fear and gives you confidence to embrace the good things He has in store for you.
Father God, thank You for thinking of me
today. Thank You for loving me and for
doing a work in my life. I receive Your love
which drives out all fear. Make me new as I
meditate on You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Recall His Deed

"But then I recall all You have done, O Lord; I remember Your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are
constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about Your mighty works"
(Psalm 77:11-12, NLT)

Everyone has difficult days when things don't go according to plan. These days can be frustrating and
sometimes overwhelming. It's during times like these that we have to be especially careful about what we
think and say. The scripture tells us that our lives will go in the direction of our thoughts. Do you need to
change your thoughts today?

goodness. I will recall His deeds to mind."

Today, don't dwell on negative, self-defeating thoughts. Instead, recall His deeds to mind. Focus on what
He's done for you. Thank Him for the gift of life and salvation. Make a list of all His wonderful blessings. Let
your thoughts turn toward Him today. Stay focused on His goodness so you can move forward in the victory
He has prepared for you!
Father in heaven, I bless Your holy name
today! Thank You for the gift of life both
now and in eternity. Thank You for loving
me and setting me free. Help me to keep my
mind on Your goodness today. In Jesus'
Name. Amen.
Take Your Life Back

"…take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ"
(2 Corinthians 10:5, NIV)

Do you ever feel like things in your life are out of control? Usually that happens when we allow our
circumstances to dictate our thoughts and attitudes. You might say, "Well,  the economy is wreaking havoc on
my business." Or "This relationship is just too far gone." But I say, today is the day to take your life back! We
live in this natural realm, but as believers, we are not limited by this natural realm. We can tap into God's
supernatural power, but it starts by making every thought line up with the Word of God.

Today, take your life back by taking your thoughts back. Don't allow the enemy to have access any longer.
Instead, meditate on the Word of God daily and allow His truth to sink down deep into your spirit. Let His truth
make you free.

Today, as you take captive every thought and boldly declare His promises over your life, you are setting
yourself up for victory. You are positioning yourself to partake of every spiritual blessing He has in store for
Heavenly Father, thank You for
empowering me to live in victory today. I
choose to take my life back by taking
captive every thought and submitting it to
You. Help me live a life that is pleasing to
You, Jesus, today and every day. In Jesus'
Name, Amen.
Praise takes you into God's courts.

and His courts with praise.

When was the last time you thanked God for something He gave you or did for you? This morning? Yesterday?
Last week? Last month? Giving thanks to God daily is always appropriate because God is always giving. An
unthankful heart is a poison to your spirit. Over time it will make you bitter, cynical and broken. It may even
make you physically sick. Thankfulness, on the other hand, will fill you with joy and cause your spirit and body
to prosper. A thankful heart is a cheerful heart. The Bible says, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a
crushed spirit dries up the bones.” So take a look around. See what God has done. If you can't find something
in your life to thank God for, you're not looking hard enough!

Thanksgiving is a form of worship. When you thank God you acknowledge Him as your Source and Provider of
all things. You also express your gratitude for what He has done. Yet thanksgiving, as wonderful and
appropriate as it is, is not the highest level of worship. That place belongs to praise. As Psalm 100 says,
thanksgiving gets you through the gate. Praise carries you all the way into the King's inner court.

What's the difference? Thanksgiving acknowledges God for what He has done. Praise acknowledges God for
who He is. So many times our worship is diluted with worldly desires and selfish motives. We worship because
we want something from God. God is so gracious, however, that he often honors and blesses us anyway,
even when our motivation is not what it should be.

Praise is worship with no strings attached. We come into the King's court with no agenda. Our only motive is
to be with Him and enjoy His presence.

When was the last time you truly praised God? How long has it been since you simply acknowledged Him for
who He is, with no other motive? Praise will reorient your thinking. It will give you a whole new perspective.
When you are in the King's court you will see things the way He does.

We all have times when we don't feel like praying. Times when it's hard to feel thankful. Those are the times
when it is most important of all to praise God. You can literally praise your way into a thankful and joyful heart.
Try it!

Do you want to draw God near? Then praise Him, no agenda - no strings attached - no ulterior motive, just
praise Him. David the psalmist wrote, “B ut You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel .” God always
turns His ear to undiluted words of love from His children. Let your praise go up and He will draw you into His
inner court!

Prayer  Father, You are awesome and beautiful beyond description. My God, my Father, my Creator, my
Sustainer, my Provider, my Healer, my Redeemer and my Friend, I love You. You are worthy of all praise and
glory and honor and power and wisdom and riches and strength! Your Name is above all other names. Your
mercy is so great and Your love is so deep. I exalt You!

Verse: I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things. 2 Peter 1:12

Jill Price has an extraordinary memory that has stunned scientists. In 2006, her overdeveloped memory was
described in a scientific journal article, "A Case of Unusual Autobiographical Remembering". Price has no
special aptitude for memorizing lists of words, numbers, facts, or languages. But she does remember what
happened to her on any given day over the last 30 years. Name any date and Price will tell you what day of
the week it was, the weather, what she had for breakfast, the TV programs she watched, and the people
she spoke with.

Few of us have a memory like that. That's why we need reminders to complete simple tasks and keep our
appointments. This is especially true when it comes to spiritual truth. The apostle Peter showed he
understood the need of spiritual reminders when he wrote: "I will not be negligent to remind you always of
these things...Yes, I think it is stir you up by reminding you... Moreover I will be careful to ensure
that you always have a reminder of these things" (2 Peter 1:12-15).

No matter what kind of memory we have, we need to be reminded of biblical principles. Daily Bible reading,
small group studies, and involvement in a local church can all help us to remember God's vital truths.

Restoration Mentality

"And I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…"
(Joel 2:25, ESV)

We serve a God of restoration! You may have had some disappointments or unfair things happen in your life;
but instead of dwelling on the past and living in defeat, choose to focus on His promises because God wants to
restore everything that's been stolen from your life. He wants to restore your joy, your peace, your health, and
your finances. But here's the key: you have to have a vision for it. You have to get your hopes up and decide
to get your thoughts and words going in the right direction.

Today, choose to focus on the future and release past hurts through forgiveness. Draw a line in the sand and
say, "I am a child of the Most High God, and I'm not going to live my life negative and defeated. This is a new
day, and I'm taking back what belongs to me!" That's having a restoration mentality!
Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing to
Your Word that sets me free. Fill me with
Your power today so that I may stand strong
Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing to
and move forward on the path You have for
me. I love You and bless Your Name. In me. I
love You and bless Your Name. In Jesus'
Name. Amen.
"True Delight"

"Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of your heart" Psalms 37:4

God knows better than anyone that we always will pursue what we desire. The more we want something, the
more we will go after it. The magnitude of our craving will determine the extent of our pursuit. Everyone,
regardless of your gender, has been created to desire things. Of course, it is more noticeable in women, but it
is a God given attribute. A desire fulfilled by the wrong relationship or pursued in the wrong motive can
become disastrous in your life.

Our desire for love is not wrong in itself, but our search for it often takes us in the wrong direction. We live in a
culture and society that bombard us with a "fantasy lifestyle." Daytime soap operas hold millions of women
captive with their steamy, seductive "love plots." All too often we have compared our success to the Hollywood
Tinsel Town couples.

We create "super humans" out of movie stars, celebrities and sports heroes and stand in awe of their
popularity. Fans spend billions of dollars for tickets to the latest box-office hit. Movies promise pleasure, not
just for two hours of viewing, but by providing a lingering memory that somehow causes you to feel cheated,
as if God has left you out.

Listen, God will plant wholesome desires into your heart, but they will not feed your ego. You need to compare
yourself with yourself, not with someone else. Do not try to rewrite the script of your life with empty fantasies;
it will only produce a dead end. God has ordered your steps. Now walk in His footsteps. Destinies are born out
of Godly desires.

And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and believing, you will receive"
(Matthew 21:22, AMP)

In the natural realm, we exchange money for the things we want and need. But in the spiritual realm, faith is
what we exchange. The Bible tells us that when we pray, if we have faith, we will receive what we pray for.

Faith is heaven's currency. Faith moves mountains. Faith opens supernatural doors. Faith pleases God. What
is faith? It is simply believing God and His Word. It's believing in His goodness and knowing that He is a
rewarder of those who diligently seek after Him. Faith is believing that the promises of God are true. It's
obeying His Word. Where does faith come from? Everyone is given a measure of faith. Romans tell us that
faith grows by hearing the Word of God. The more you hear the Word of God, the more real it becomes in
your life and the easier it is to believe His promises.

It doesn't matter how much faith you have today, begin investing your faith by choosing to obey God's Word.
As you hear and obey the Word, you will be empowered by faith, and you will move forward to receive every
good gift He has in store for you!
"I am Reminded"

"Old things are passed away; behold all things are become new"
2nd Corinthians 5:17

Have you ever looked at old photos of yourself from days gone past
and had someone say, "That does not even look like you." Did you
ever go to your class reunion and say to yourself about someone
you are trying to remember, "I cannot remember your name, but
your face looks familiar." That is what the devil tries to do with your
past. He tries to make you remember what you used to look like
and then tries to put a mirror to your face and see if you will go
down memory lane.

Only the devil will bring up your past. The Bible says that God has
cast your sins as far as the east is from the west. Corrie Ten Boom
once said, God cast your sins into the sea of forgetfulness and then
put a sign that said, "No Fishing." When we try to mention our past
to God, He looks at His day time from the day in question and says,
"All I can see is blood stains."

You are forgiven from your past, so do not revisit it in your mind.
The more you think about your past, and the more you talk about
your past, the more you will remember your past. Satan wants you
to visit your past to bring you under condemnation. If you fall into
his trap, you will lose your joy, your shout and your victory. Many
Christians miss out on their blessing because they choose not to

Next time the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his
future. Then get in his face and declare, "Yes, that used to be me,
but here is what I am now." "And the life which I now live in the
flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave
himself for me." (Galatians 2:20).
Thought of the Day:
Let God's Word fill your memory, rule your
heart, and guide your steps.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the power
of Your Word at work in my life. I submit
myself to You today and ask that the seeds
of faith in my heart grow strong. I open my
heart to You and ask You to remove any
doubt or unbelief so that I can serve You
with my whole heart all the days of my
life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

John 20:13 - "Woman, Why weepest thou?"

What has made you cry until your tears become a continuous fountain? Have you ever had someone embarrass
you publicly, and they enjoyed it? What about when you look at your check and you have been cheated out of
your bonus. Ever been laid off? What was your reaction when someone hit your car in the parking lot with a
grocery cart and did not leave you a note on how to find them? It does not take much to break your heart
when someone has attacked you, violated you or let you down.

Mary was heartbroken that early Sunday morning. She wept with deep sorrow because she did not know what
was happening. She was confused. Her Savior, her friend, her Deliverer, her Lord was gone and she did not
know where He was. What was precious to her was taken away. She lost the most important person in her life.
Now life was worthless and hopeless without Him. She had lost any hope for a future. Her dream was dead and
her promise was broken. And now she did not know how to get it back. Something that God had given her was
now misplaced.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you…"
(Jeremiah 1:5, AMP)

ever born? He knew everything about you before you were in your
mother's womb. He created you on purpose, for a purpose. He
carefully planned who you would be, the color of your hair, the Did
you know that God was thinking about you before you were color
your eyes and skin. He gave you gifts, talents, and abilities to be
used for His glory. He took one look at you and said, "Approved."

No matter how you may be feeling right now, no matter who's
approval you didn't get on this earth, know that Almighty God
loves you and approves of you today. There's nothing you can do
now or ever to change that. You may be thinking, "I've made so
many mistakes, how can God approve of me?" Understand that
when God sees you, He separates you from your behavior. He may
not approve of your actions all the time, but He desires to help you
grow and make better choices.

Today, receive His love and acceptance. Allow Him to work in your
life. Allow His love to empower and strengthen you because you
are approved and equipped to live in victory all the days of your
"Content Whatever the Circumstances"

"…I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances"
(Philippians 4:11, NIV))

It's easy in life to get so focused on our dreams, goals, and what we want that it consumes us. We can get to
the point where we're not going to be happy until it happens. But I've found that if we have to have
something in order to be happy, our lives are out of balance. When our goals and dreams start to frustrate us,
when we lose our peace, and we're not enjoying life; that's a sure sign that we're holding on too tightly.
What's the solution? You've got to release it. Freedom comes when you say, "God, I'm turning it all over to
You. You know my desires, and You know what's best for me. I'm choosing to trust You and trust Your timing."

When we learn to be content whatever the circumstances, it takes away the power of the enemy. It takes
away his ability to frustrate us. Not only that, but by our actions we are showing our faith in God. When you
choose to trust in His timing, you can live in peace, you can live in joy, and you can rest in Him knowing that He
has good things in store for your future.
Heavenly Father, thank You for approving
me and empowering me by Your love. I open my
heart and mind to Your truth and invite You
to have Your way in my life. Remove
anything that would hold me back from all
You have in store. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Jesus was hiding in the bushes and watching this whole tomb.
He saw the angels appear and give their resurrection standing
right in front of her, and she had mistaken Him for the gardener.
Mary was about to find her miracle in the midst of her mess.
Jesus stepped forward and revealed Himself by calling her by
her name, "Mary."

Just when you think it is the darkest day, Jesus is hiding in the

through. When you think you have lost your mind, Jesus is
ready to appear. When you thought you could never show
yourself again, Jesus is ready to appear.

Turn around and recognize your answer is right in front of you.
Heavenly Father, today I choose to trust in You. I

choose to trust in Your timing because You are
faithful, and I will bless You in all things.

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou will not despise" Psalms

In the prime of King David's reign, he sinned by taking a census of Israel (1 Chronicles 21). This political act
was practiced by other nations and it was done to concur the population. This action would determine the
strength of the country and its potential for war. It was a sin to God because it was David depending upon the
masses for protection and was done out of fear and pride.

The consequences for his sin were given to David as multiple choices: three years of famine, three years under
the sword, or three day of judgment. Despite David's shortcomings and sins, he remained intimate with God.
He knew God's nature through a lifestyle of worship. So David chose the later - judgment.

An angel was sent to bring pestilence to Jerusalem, but God was sorrowful for the evil. In the middle of the
judgment, God instructed David to go to the house of Ornan the Jebusite, and to the threshing floor (The place
where harvesting of the grain took place), and build him an altar there. David obeyed, and the judgment

The offering was totally consumed, and there was nothing left but ashes. Years later; Solomon built the
temple on mount Moriah where the Lord appeared to David on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. The
foundation of the temple was the ashes of David's sacrifice. The ashes of disappointment and despair became
the ground for hope.

That is what God wants to do with the ashes of your life. He wants to erect your temple. Your broken and
contrite heart will bring you to the place of mercy!

When God looks for something great to build upon, He looks for ashes!

"My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made
perfect in weakness" 2 Cor. 12:9

God does His most powerful work when we are weak,
empty and helpless. That is the state we do not like to
be in, but it is the condition out of which God builds
masterpieces. We like full. God likes empty. In fact,
emptiness is a necessary first step to being filled with
His presence.

Being weak is sometimes depicted as something painful
or unpleasant. But pain can become a conduit for
power. I eventually discovered that what was meant to
destroy us can actually be what makes us strong and
whole. What was supposed to be a stumbling block in
our life can actually become a stepping stone.

You may be saying, "What good can possibly come out
of my situation? How can God take my mess and get
any glory?" It is interesting to me that transforming
messes into blessings is God's specialty. God does not
communicate with us, bless us, and use us because we
are perfect, but because we have discovered grace
through our weaknesses.

Does your life seem like it has no purpose or meaning?
Do you feel like you are spinning around on a
merry-go-round? Be of good cheer. It is not an end for
you, but merely an opportunity for God to move, to
bring order, to do a miraculous, creative work in your
life. When you have nothing to offer God but your
weakness and your brokenness. He has nothing to offer
to you except His power, strength, hope, peace and His
presence. Make the great exchange.

Be Still

"Be still, and know that I am God"
(Psalm 46:10, NIV))

In this day and age, our culture has gotten used to having constant activity going on: computers, cell phones,
television, email, video games. There's nothing wrong with any of that stuff, but the Bible tells us that we need
to stop and be still so we can focus on knowing God. I've found this to be true especially during the difficult
times. When you are facing a challenge, it's easy to want to run to a friend or talk about it with a co-worker,
but at some point, you have to stop and say, "God, I rest in You. I know You have me in the palm of Your

Remember, our battles are spiritual battles. The people in your life aren't the source of your problems, the
forces of darkness are. When you choose to be still and know that the Greater One lives on the inside of you,
you are putting yourself in a position of strength. So today, take time to be still before Him. Let His peace
cover you. Let Him refresh you by His Spirit. Remember, the battles you face belong to the Lord. Be still before
Him so you can see His hand of victory in every area of your life!
Father in heaven, I humbly come before
You. I choose to be still before You. Speak to
my heart so I can know You more. Fill me
with Your peace as I put my trust in You. In

God wants to pour out His favor on you so that you can live in victory in every area of your life. The scripture
says He always causes us to triumph through Christ Jesus! That means, no matter what you may be facing
today, God wants to make you more than a conqueror. Are you battling sickness? God wants to give you
healing. Are you struggling with a broken relationship? God wants to give you restoration and peace. Are
you facing a need—physically, spiritually, or emotionally? God's favor will bring you provision and supply all
your needs according to His riches in glory.

Many times in the Bible when God's people were going into battle, the worshipers were out in front of the
warriors. When you choose to be thankful and bless the Lord in the midst of your battle, you are opening
the door to His favor in your life. That's why I always say, magnify your God; don't magnify your problems!
When you give praise to God, you'll see Him move on your behalf, and He'll lead you into victory in every
area of your life!
Father in Heaven, today I give you thanks
for your mercy and faithfulness in my life.

Your Story Ends in Victory

"You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed"
(Psalm 139:16, NLT)

Did you know that all of your days have already been written? God has already recorded every part of your
life from the beginning to the end. He knows every disappointment, every loss and every challenge. The
good news is that even though you've had some challenges, even though you've faced some setbacks, your
story ends in victory. Your final chapter concludes with you fulfilling your God-given destiny and experiencing
His eternal restoration.

Any time we face a disappointment in life or go through a loss, we have to remember there's another
chapter in front of us. We can't stop on that page, we have to keep moving forward. Instead of focusing on
what didn't work out, wondering why we went through a marriage that didn't last, or why we didn't get that
position we worked so hard for, focus on the future. Let go of the past and press forward because your
story ends in victory, and God will restore everything that has been stolen from you!
Heavenly Father, thank You for setting me
up for victory. Thank You for holding me in
the palm of Your hand. I choose to release the
questions and disappointments in the past so
that I can be ready to receive the victory

For Your Good

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called
according to His purpose for them"
(Romans 8:28, NLT)

Every person goes through disappointments and things that don't seem to make sense. It's easy to get
discouraged and think, "Why did this happen to me?" "Why did my loved one not make it?" "Why did this
person treat me wrong?" "Why did I get laid off?" I had a man recently tell me how he lost his job after many
years. He just didn't understand it. He said, "Joel, I gave that company my best. I was always there on time. I
was loyal. It's just not right."

Friend, we have to understand that even though life is not always fair, God is fair. He promises that He will
work all things together for our good. I believe the key word in today's verse is "together." In other words,
don't just isolate one part of your life and say, "Well, this is not good." "It's not good that I got laid off." "It's
not good that my child got sick." "It's not good that my relationship didn't work out." Yes, that's true, but that's
just one part of your life. God can see the big picture. That disappointment is not the end. Your life doesn't stop
because of one setback. That is simply one piece of your puzzle. There is another piece coming to connect it all
because God promises to work all things together for your good!
Heavenly Father, thank You for working
all things together for my good. I choose to
release any doubt, any frustration, any
confusion over my past, and I choose to trust
in You. Help me to see the big picture as I
keep my mind stayed on You. In Jesus'
Name. Amen.
Divine Interruptions

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge
Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV)

We all have times when our plans don't work out. We get delayed, interrupted, and inconvenienced. It's easy
to get frustrated and fight against everything that doesn't go our way. But I've learned that every interruption
is not bad. Every closed door doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. Every delay doesn't mean you're
not where you're supposed to be. There is something I call a divine interruption where God, on purpose, will
delay us to protect us from an accident. On purpose, He will close a door because it's not His best. Sometimes,
God will allow us to be inconvenienced so we can help someone else in need. We have to be willing to press
through difficulty so we can be at the right place at the right time.

The next time you're interrupted, delayed, or inconvenienced, don't start thinking, "This is a pain. This is
getting me off schedule." No, get a new perspective. Look for what God wants to do because it could be divine
interruption or divine protection. Trust Him today because He is directing your steps.
Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing
me. I surrender every area of my mind, will,
and emotions to You. Use me for Your glory
today and teach me to discern Your ways. In
Jesus' Name. Amen.
He is Strong in You

"And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness…"
(Romans 8:26, NLT)

Do you ever get focused on what you consider to be a disadvantage or weakness in your life? Maybe there's
something about yourself that you don't like physically. You may have even been through an unfair situation:
a divorce, a bad business deal, or a bad break.

We all have things that can feel like disadvantages, things that make it harder on us. But just because you
have a "disadvantage," just because you've been through a tough time doesn't mean you're supposed to sit
back and settle where you are. No, God still has something great for you to do! He wants to show Himself
strong in and through you. The Holy Spirit wants to help you during those times when you feel weak. If you
will stay in faith and not get negative toward yourself or your future, then God can take what you think is a
liability and turn it into an asset. What you think is a disadvantage God will turn around to be an advantage
so you can move forward into the abundant life He has for you!
Father in heaven, today I give You all that
I am. I invite You into the weak places in
my life so that You can turn them into
strengths. Thank You for working in my life
and filling me with faith and expectancy.

His Plans are Greater

"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your
(Isaiah 55:9, NIV)

Have you been praying and standing on God's Word for something and you haven't seen the results yet?

The scripture says in John 11 verse 6, "When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed where He was
two more days." One translation says, "He sat down." Don't you know that was the opposite response that
Lazarus' family was looking for? "Jesus, don't sit down when we need You the most." In other words, "God,
don't sit down when my finances are this low." "Don't sit down when my problems are this big." But in the
end, God not only healed Lazarus, He raised him from the dead!

Your mind may be telling you it's over, it's too late, it's never going to happen. No, you've got to know there is
a reason for the delay. God is planning something greater. You're thinking of a healing. He is thinking of a
resurrection. You may be thinking how can I just survive, but God is thinking how you can thrive. Remember,
His ways are higher than your ways, and you can trust that He is going to amaze you with His goodness in
every area of your life!
Father God, today I choose to trust in You. I
trust that You are working behind the scenes
on my behalf. I release all of my cares and
concerns to You knowing that You have a
greater plan in store for me. In Jesus' Name.
Overcoming Disappointments

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past"
(Isaiah 43:18, NIV)

The Bible tells us that every person, no matter how much faith they have or how good they are, will face
disappointments. It may be something simple like not getting the promotion you hoped for, or not closing a
business deal you worked so hard on. Maybe you didn't qualify for a house you really wanted, or maybe
something more serious happened like a relationship not working out, the death of a loved one, or some kind
of illness in your body. Whatever it may be, the reality is that we're all going to suffer some setbacks. I
believe one of the main keys to overcoming disappointments is learning to let go of the past.

If you feel "stuck" today, you may want to examine what you're holding on to. Be willing let go of past
disappointments by choosing forgiveness. Who hurt you? Who wronged you? Release it to God. Do you need
to forgive yourself? Do you need to receive God's forgiveness? Make the choice today to forgive. Let go of the
past so you can overcome disappointments and experience the bright future God has in store for you!
Heavenly Father, search my heart and
mind today. Show me any area where I
may be holding on to the past. Help me to
receive Your forgiveness so that I can extend
forgiveness to others and move forward in the
wonderful plan You have for me. In Jesus'
Name. Amen.
Brighter Days Ahead

"The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day"
(Proverbs 4:18, NLT)

Are you facing a situation that seems dark today? As a believer, God promises that your path will shine
brighter and brighter as you seek His truth and righteousness in every situation. What is righteousness?
Righteousness is simply being in right standing with God. Being in right standing with God is about submitting
your life to Him. It's about obeying His commands and seeking His plan for your life on a daily basis. As you
seek Him, the light of God's Word will guide you in every decision you have to make.

No matter what you may be facing today, take time to ask the Lord to shine His light on you. Ask Him to
confirm His plan for you. As you continue pursuing His truth and righteousness, as you continue to make His
Word a priority in your life, you will experience more of His blessings. You'll see those brighter days as you
move forward in the good plan He has in store for you!
Father God, I know that You have a
wonderful plan and purpose for me. I desire to
be in right standing with You. Show me
Your ways and teach me to walk
righteously before You. Shine Your light in
my heart and give me strength to pursue the
path You have in store for me. In Jesus'

Celebrate Your Freedom

"You have been set free from sin…"
(Romans 6:18, NIV)

This weekend, we celebrate Independence Day in America. July 4, 1776 was the day America declared
independence from Britain, but the battle for freedom went on until 1783—seven more years. Even though the
people declared their freedom in 1776, they had to stand and fight for many years before the British would
accept and recognized the United States of America.

In the same way, we have to declare our freedom and be determined to stand against the opposing forces in
our lives. We have to declare our freedom from addiction, poverty, sickness, and lack. We have to stand and
fight until we fully experience that freedom and peace that God has promised.

I love what our forefathers did once they signed the Declaration of Independence. They read it out loud in
public. They published it in the newspaper. They spread the word. They continued to declare and celebrate
even though they were in the midst of the battle.

Whatever battle you may be facing today, declare that you are free! Declare that you are an overcomer!
Celebrate the victory that is on its way! As you stand strong and celebrate your freedom, you will experience
His victory and true freedom all the days of your life!
Heavenly Father, thank You for setting me
free in every area of my life. I declare today
that nothing can hold me back. I declare
that I am free from sickness, poverty, lack,
and addiction. I declare that You have set
me free and thank You for freedom in every

It's Your Time

"The vision is yet for an appointed time…"
(Habakkuk 2:3, NKJ)

God has planted seeds of greatness on the inside of you. He has predestined that those things in your heart
come to pass. You may have had more than your share of unfair things happen in your life. You probably have
plenty of reasons to just settle where you are. But understand, the depth of your past is an indication of the
height of your future. In other words, if you've been through a lot of negative things in the past, it just means
that your future is bigger and brighter and greater than you can even imagine. It's your time to step out and
embrace all that God has for you!

Are there dreams and promises that you've let go of? Are there things that God has placed in your heart that
you've given up on? Today is the day to give your dreams a new beginning. Today is the day to allow faith to
rise in your heart. Remember, what's happened to you is not nearly as important as what's happened in you.
Today, you are stronger and wiser than ever before. It's your time and your season to move forward into the
destiny that God has prepared for you!
Heavenly Father, thank You for the
destiny that You have deposited into my
heart. I choose to stand in faith knowing
that You are working behind the scenes. Give
me strength and wisdom to follow Your
leading so that I can embrace all that You
have for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Don't Give Up On Your Tomorrows

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans
to give you hope and a future;"
(Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).)

No matter what may be happening today, God has good things in store for your future! It may not be easy
to see now, but God has already lined up a new beginning, new friendships, and new opportunities for you.
Maybe last year had some setbacks and difficulty, but don't make the mistake of expecting this year to be
the same. It's time to get a new vision because it is a new day!

As believers, our attitude should be, "Even though the economy is down, I'm not worried. I know God is
going before me, and He has promised He will make rivers in the desert." Or, "The medical report may not
look good, but I have another report that says that God is restoring health unto me. I believe God has
already released healing, health and victory in my future." Or, you may have a child who is not on the right
course. In the natural it seems impossible. But our report should be, "I know God can do the impossible! My
child will fulfill their destiny!" Be encouraged today and don't give up on your tomorrows because God has a
good plan in store for you!
Father in heaven, thank You for giving me
a hope and a future. Thank You for loving
me. Thank You for choosing me. Thank You
for delighting in me. I invite You to renew
my heart and mind to the good plans you
have for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

"From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher
than I;"
(Psalm 61:2, NIV).)

Everyone goes through seasons of difficulty. We all face challenges and trials. Scripture tells us that in this
world we will have trouble, but we can be encouraged today because He has overcome the world and
disarmed it of the power to harm us! Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. His ways are
higher than our ways, and He has promised to deliver us!

So many times, people feel stuck in their circumstances because they are looking at them from a natural
perspective. This natural perspective is limited. It's small. It's only a fraction of what's really going on. But,
if we'll rise up to a higher level, we will see things the way God sees them. We'll understand His purposes
and see the way to victory!

Today, if you're feeling overwhelmed, Jesus is the rock who is high above your circumstances. When you
call on Him, He will be with you. He will lead you and guide you into the higher places He has prepared for
Heavenly Father, today I release every care
and concern to You. Have Your way in my
circumstances. Have Your way in my
thoughts. Help me, Jesus, to come up higher
in every area of my life with You. In Jesus'
Name. Amen.
New Seasons of Increase

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland;"
(Isaiah 43:19, NIV).)

Are you going through a situation that seems beyond your control? I want to encourage you today that
even when we can't see it, God is working behind the scenes. He is doing a new thing. He is making a way
for you even when there seems to be no way. He wants to lead you out of that dry, desolate place into a
place of peace, safety and abundance. He wants to take you from a season of drought into a season of

Your part is simply to trust Him and switch over from an attitude of fear and doubt to an attitude of faith.
How do you change your attitude? Start by changing what comes out of your mouth. Instead of speaking
about your situation, speak to your situation. Every day declare, "This is the day that the Lord has made.
He is taking me into seasons of increase. I'm moving forward with strength through the joy of the Lord!"
When you start speaking like that, soon your mind and heart will grab hold of the truth, and it won't be long
before you're walking in the increase God has prepared for you!
Father in heaven, I receive new seasons of
increase into my life by faith today. I choose
to stand and declare Your promises because I
know You have good things in store for my
future. I bless You and thank You for
another day to sing Your praise. In Jesus'
Name. Amen.
Your Seed Determines Your Harvest

"Don't be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant"
(Galatians 6:7 NLT).

Have you ever looked at a large, old tree and wondered how long it has been there? It's amazing to think that
at one point that gigantic tree was merely a tiny seed. In the same way, our words and actions are seeds. We
will always reap a harvest on what we sow.

Think about the types of seeds you have been sowing. Are you sowing encouragement, hope, blessing, love?
Then that's what you'll reap in the future. But if you've been sowing criticism, judgment and anger, you're
probably already reaping a bad harvest. It's time to start changing your seed.

Today, I encourage you to pray and ask God to help you uproot any negative seeds you may have planted in
the past and begin sowing good seeds for your future. As you stay obedient to the Word of God, you'll see
those seeds grow. You'll rise up higher and enjoy the harvest of blessing God has promised you.
Father in heaven, I ask You to search my
heart. Show me any bad seeds that need to be
uprooted. Help me, by Your Spirit, to plant
good seeds for my future. Use me for Your
glory. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Don't Allow Yourself to Settle

"So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we
don't give up, or quit"
(Galatians 6:9, The Message).

Everyone has God-given dreams and desires. We all have goals we want to accomplish and situations we
are believing will be turned around. Sometimes it seems to take longer than we originally thought.
Sometimes, things don't work out the way we planned, and it's easy to lose enthusiasm. If we're not careful,
we'll get discouraged and end up just settling where we are. But God doesn't want us to settle, He wants to
take us higher. But many times, people miss out on God's best simply because they give up too soon. They
don't realize how close they are to their victory.

Friend, don't let that be you today. Don't give up just because things seem hard. You've invested so much,
and you never know, just a few more days of believing, another few weeks of doing the right thing, another
few months of staying in faith, and you could see that situation turn around. Remember, God is on your side!
Keep standing and keep believing because you are closer than you think to fulfilling every desire He's placed
inside of you!
Father God, today I come to You again,
believing that You are working behind the
scenes on my behalf. Give me Your strength
to keep moving forward into the place of
victory You have for me. In Jesus' Name.
The Great Reward

"So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!"
(Hebrews 10:35, NLT).

What are you believing God for today? Promotion? Healing? Stronger relationships? Freedom from addiction?
God has promised all these things to you in His Word. He wants you to live in blessing and wholeness all the
days of your life. But in order to experience His promises, we have to do our part. We have to keep believing
and trusting in Him. That's what today's verse is saying: if we will stay in faith, if we will keep believing, keep
hoping, keep doing the right thing, God promises there will be a reward. I like how one translation puts it,
"Don't get discouraged. Payday is coming!"

When you're tempted to get down, when things aren't going your way, just say to yourself, "This may be
hard. It may be taking a long time, but I know God is a faithful God. I'm going to keep believing because my
reward is coming."

Friend, as you trust Him and stand in faith, as you boldly declare His promises, you are positioning yourself to
receive His blessing. No matter what your circumstances look like, remember payday is on its way—and you
will experience the blessing and reward He's promised all the days of your life!
Father in heaven, thank You for Your good
and precious promises. I choose to trust that
my reward is coming. I choose to follow Your
commands because they lead to blessing and
life. Give me a heart that is fixed on You
and fill me with Your peace. I patiently
wait on You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Open Your Mouth

"…Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it…"
(Psalm 81:10, NLT).

Do you have your mouth open wide today? In other words, are you expecting God to fill you and increase you
beyond measure? Are ready for Him to satisfy your needs and desires with good things? Think about a baby
bird. When they are ready to eat, they open their mouths wide. They trust that they will be fed. They expect
it. They look for it. They are ready for it.

It should be the same way with us. We need to keep our spiritual mouths open by expecting the goodness of
God to satisfy us. Negative thinking is like closing your mouth. A closed mouth can't be filled. But Jesus is
saying today, why don't you take the limits off? Why don't you trust and believe for supernatural

That little bird waiting for food isn't concerned about where the mother is going to get it from. It isn't
concerned about how she's going to dig it up. No, that bird just opens its mouth, trusting and waiting. Why
don't you do the same today? Trust that God is working behind the scenes. Open your mouth wide today. You
won't be disappointed. God is faithful to His Word, and He will fill you and satisfy you when you put your trust
in Him!
Heavenly Father, I come to You today,
asking You to fill my mouth. I choose to
trust You even when I don't understand how
everything is going to work out. I know that
You are a good God with a good plan for my
life. Fill me with Your peace and patience as
I humbly wait on You. In Jesus' Name.
Finding Strength

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run
and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint"
(Isaiah 40:31, NIV).

Do you need your strength renewed today? The scripture tells us that when we hope in the Lord, that's exactly
what will happen—our strength will be renewed. If you've grown weary and tired, overwhelmed by the cares of
this world, it's a clear sign that you need to change what you're putting your hope in. Are you putting your
hope in your job? The government? The economy? Another person? Those are all things that will change. But
when you hope in the Lord, you are investing in the Rock of Ages! He never changes! He is the only solid
foundation for your soul.

Today, find strength by simply putting your hope in Him. Start by declaring out loud, "God, I place my hope in
You. I trust that You are working behind the scenes in my life. I choose to rest in You." Then, feed your hope
and faith by meditating daily on the scriptures. As you renew your mind with the Word of God, you'll find
strength, you'll find hope, and you'll find His victory all the days of your life!
Father God, thank You for renewing my
strength as I put my hope in You. I declare
today that I love You and trust You. I know
that You are working behind the scenes in
my life. Fill me with Your peace and joy as I

The Most Blessed

"If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what He
reveals, they are most blessed"
(Proverbs 29:18, The Message).

God wants His people to be the most blessed! He wants His people to constantly increase so they can be
examples of His goodness. But, in order to partake of everything He has in store for us, we have to be open
to what He wants to do in our lives. We have to have a vision for increase. We have to look for what He is
doing and obey what He tells us.

If you're not expecting favor, or if you are just satisfied with where you are, then you are living below your
privileges. But if you will get a vision for increase, a vision of who you are as a child of the Most High God and
see what He wants to do in your life, then opportunities, favor and increase will open before you. Just like
this scripture says, as a child of the Most High, you are entitled to be the most blessed!

I encourage you, today, to take time to focus your thoughts on God and His promises. Meditate on His Word
and ask Him to increase your capacity to receive. Then, follow His commands and look for His goodness—and
get ready to be the most blessed!
Heavenly Father, I choose right now to set
my mind and focus on You. I choose to look
for what You want to do in and through me.
I let go of any wrong thinking, attitudes or
actions that would hold me back. I choose to
obey You and thank You for Your blessing in

If there is a time right now for inner healing that time is now.  The past year has been extremely
difficult.   My sister died on April 4th.  On that same day a part of me died, too.  

The months leading up to my sister's death were filled with purpose.  While I was going through the
motions dictated by my circumstances, one thing was crystal clear:  I know what my priorities were and
I was confident in what I was doing.  For that season, I wanted to care for my sister.  

I think it's amazing as I tried hard to do God's will for my life.  I thought everything would fall into
place.  Family and friends were bringing food and meals to the house.  Friends were coming over just
to be around my sister Ruthie.  Her full of life attitude and big smile said it all.  We know that the Lord
was working out all the details and because of that I know that I would be filled with peace
throughout one of the hardest times I've experienced.  

I was surprise how I handled my life.  I thought I would freak out and not be able to take care of my
sister.  But I did.  I thought I would fall apart, but the truth is I had no time too.  I had my moments
when I cried and days I was physically and emotionally exhausted, but I had a purpose in my life and
my sister Ruthie needed me.  I chose to trust in the Lord and felt his peace the entire time.  

Since my sister's passing, I haven't had quite that same presence of peace or purpose. I still trust the
Lord and know peace is available, but I'm struggling some with this new reality of my sister being
gone. When my sister died, a big part of who I was died too. I lost her and I lost my position as her
caregiver. I often feel uncomfortable, shaken. Sometimes I have to remind myself to breathe. Many
times I have to tell myself that the same peace I had before is still available. God has not left me and
despite how I feel, He still has a purpose for me.

Could it be that my purpose for now is to grieve? Grieving isn't easy and even though it's a natural part
of life, it doesn't feel natural. It has required stillness and quiet, which is not simple to come by in my
world. It's also required an understanding that my feelings are acceptable and it is okay to not have a
clearly defined, tangible purpose for this season - other than grieving. I had to give myself permission
to grieve and trust that through this God's will for me will prevail.

Life is filled with highs and lows, and God is there during them all. At times His will for our lives is very
clear and at other times I think He wants us to seek Him and wait for Him to make it clear. It's during
the seeking and waiting that we must hold on to our hope in Christ and claim the peace He offers us.

So for now, I grieve. The way I grieve may change daily, but one thing will not change: I am blessed,
because of what I've lost. And I'm blessed because God is embracing me every step of the way
(Matthew 5:4).

Dear Lord, I am so thankful for Your love. Please give me peace during the trials of my life. Help me be
content where You have me today.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Jeremiah 29:11b, "I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not
abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." (MSG)

Psalm 16:8, "I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me." (NLT)

John 16:33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will
have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (NIV)
Choose Your Friends Wisely

"…Do not throw your pearls before swine"
(Matthew 7:6, NAS).

Do you realize you have treasure on the inside of you? You could say that your pearls are what God has given
you to be a blessing to the world around you—your gifts, talents and abilities. When you get around true
friends, people who really believe in you, they won't be jealous of your gifts. They won't constantly question
who you are. They won't try to talk you out of your dreams. It will be just the opposite. They'll help you polish
your pearls, develop your pearls, enhance your pearls, and grow your pearls. In other words, they'll give you
ideas. They'll connect you with people they know. They'll help push you further along. If you stay around people
who don't value your gifts nor appreciate what you have to offer, that's casting your pearls among swine.
Your inner circle, those who are closest to you, should be people who celebrate who you are; people who are
happy when you succeed. They should be people who believe the very best in you. Remember, it's not the
quantity of friends that's important, it's the quality of friends. Choose your friends wisely so you can be all that
God has called you to be.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gifts,
talents and abilities You have given to me.
Help me to recognize the treasure within.
Give me wisdom to discern the right
relationships You have ordained for me. In

He Holds Your Destiny

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way"
(Psalm 37:23, NKJ).

Oftentimes, people who aren't fulfilling their destiny will try to discourage you from fulfilling yours. They may not
do it intentionally, but they'll tell you what you can't do and how things won't work out. They're quick to remind
you of all your impossibilities. Your relatives, co-workers and friends may try to talk you out of your dream, but
that's because God didn't put that promise in them; He put it in you. You have to remember that other people
don't determine your destiny; God does. He holds your destiny in the palm of His hand. If you will keep
believing, God will not only bring it to pass, but He will do more than you can ask or think.
Friend, don't let someone else's unbelief keep you from believing. Don't let other people talk you out of your
dreams. It's time to get into agreement with God. He says you are well able. He says you are equipped. He
says you are qualified. He says you are anointed, called and appointed to fulfill every dream and desire He's
placed in your heart!
Father in heaven, I trust that You are
leading and guiding me today. I trust that
You hold my future. I choose to tune out the
discouraging voices and tune into Your
Word. Fill me with Your peace and joy as
You direct my steps. In Jesus' Name. Amen
Run Your Own Race

"…let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our
(Hebrews 12:1-2, NKJ).

It's easy to be tempted to go through life competing with everyone around us. When we see someone who's
more talented, better looking or has more gifts, instead of running our race and being comfortable with who
we are, oftentimes we feel inferior and think, "I've got to catch up to them." The problem with this unhealthy
competition is that it's a never-ending cycle. There will always be someone ahead of us. But, it's a very freeing
thing when you realize, "I'm not competing with you. I don't have to have as big a house as my neighbor to
feel good about myself. I don't have to keep up with my co-worker. I don't have to be a certain size. No, I
understand that I'm not in competition with my friend, my neighbor or my co-worker. Instead, I'm going to be
the best me that I can possibly be." Friend, that's an attitude God can work with. When you focus on being
who God made you to be, that's when you'll rise up higher and position yourself for every spiritual blessing He
has in store for you!
Father God, I humbly come to You giving
You all that I am. I choose to keep my eyes
on You and allow You to work in my heart
and mind. I declare that I am free from
competition today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Know Your Limitations

"If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear,
where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them,
just as he wanted them to be"
(1 Corinthians 12: 17-18, NIV).

In the New Testament, John was baptizing a crowd of people and drawing a lot of attention. Somebody came
up and said, "John, are you the Christ or should we keep looking?" Without missing a beat John said, "No, I
am not the Messiah."

See, John knew what he was, but he also knew what he was not. It's just as important to know what you're
not because if you don't realize your limitations, you'll get drawn into areas that may look impressive and may
feed your ego, but they are outside of your gifting and calling; outside of what God anointed you to do.
Anytime you go outside of your limitations, it will be a constant struggle. Don't let that be you! Instead, stay
focused on what you're good at. Follow peace in your heart and know your limitations because God has
created you just the way He wants you to be!
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me.
Thank You for choosing me. I ask that You
help me to know my limitations. Help me to
know my place in the body of Christ so that
I can bring glory and honor to You. In Jesus

The Fruit of Our Words

"I create the fruit of the lips…"
(Isaiah 57:19, KJV).

Did you know that your words are like seeds? They have creative power. In the future, we will eat the fruit
of our words. That means our words are going to produce exactly what we're saying.
That's why it's so important to make positive declarations over our lives every single day. We should say
things like "I am blessed. I am prosperous. I am healthy. I am talented. I am creative. I am wise." When we
do this, we are standing in agreement with God's Word. We are sowing good seed. We are preparing our
future for when we arrive.
Today, make sure you are sowing good seed with your words. Speak God's Word which is truth that will set
you free. Let His Word fill your heart and mind and direct your mouth with what to say. Set yourself up for
success in your future and pave the way for victory with your words today!
Father God, thank You for Your Word which
is truth that sets me free. Help me to guard
my words and sow good seed into my future. I
choose to hide Your Word in my heart. Keep
me close to You and direct my steps. In Jesus'
Name. Amen.

"For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world…"
(Ephesians 1:4, NIV).

God chose you before the foundations of the earth. Before the worlds were ever formed, He knew you. And,
He didn't create you to be average. He didn't create you to barely get by. No, He created you to excel! Not
only has He chosen you, but He has equipped you with everything you need to live His abundant life. He has
deposited seeds of greatness inside every person. But in order to tap into those seeds of greatness, you
have to believe this and act on it.
Too many people today are going around with low self-esteem, feeling inferior like they don't have what it
takes. They are living a lie. And as long as we have a poor self-image, we're not going to experience God's
best. In order to be all that God has called us to be, we have to see ourselves as chosen, valuable and
Today, meditate on this truth. Let it sink down deep into your heart. Let it build confidence and security in
you. As you understand your value, you'll rise up higher and higher into the life of victory He has prepared for
Father God, thank You for choosing me.
Thank You for equipping me. Help me to see
myself the way You see me. Show me Your
ways that I may walk with You in
confidence and trust all the days of my life.

New Every Morning

"…His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness"
(James 3:10, NLT).

Is there something that you've done in your past that you're not particularly happy about? A choice that you
regret? The good news today is that you can be free of guilt and condemnation. You don't have to live with
that burden any longer.
Today's verse tells us that God's mercies are new every morning. He's not ever going to run out of
compassion. He's not ever going to run out of forgiveness. He's not ever going to say, "Well, this is the last
time I'm going to give you mercy." No, you can have a new beginning every single day!
Let that truth sink down deep into your heart right now. If there is anything from the past that you may still
be carrying, take a moment and call on His faithfulness. Call on His mercy. Ask for His forgiveness. Let Him
refresh and restore your soul right now. Praise Him and thank Him for the work He is doing in your life and
enjoy a fresh new beginning today!
Heavenly Father, today I choose to let go of
every single weight from the past. I call on
Your mercy; I call on Your grace. Thank
You for hearing me and delivering me. I

Safety in Times of Distress

"But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your loving kindness in the morning,
For You have been my stronghold and a refuge in the day of my distress"
(Psalm 59:16, NAS).

Everyone goes through situations and circumstances in life that can cause distress, worry or anxiety. The
key to overcoming these situations is exactly what David did in today's verse. Even though David's very life
was at stake, He knew that His source of strength and victory was in His worship. He knew that He would
find refuge during the day of distress as He sang praises to the Most High God.
No matter what you're facing in life today, realize that there's no better place for you to be than in the
presence of Almighty God. Everything you need is found in Him. When you begin to worship Him, when you
call upon His name, He promises to be near you. And when God shows up on the scene, the enemy must
flee! Today, if you've been fighting discouragement, worry or anxiety, cast those cares on the Lord. Come
into His presence with singing and enter His courts with praise. Let Him be a refuge for you and give you
the strength you need to overcome every obstacle in Jesus' name!
Heavenly Father, I humbly come before You
today. I declare that You are good and
faithful. I will sing of Your love and mercy.
Fill me with Your strength and joy as I

Arise, Shine

"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you"
(Isaiah 60:1, NIV).

Today, God wants to exceed your expectations! He has amazing things stored up for you. He wants to
take you places that you've never dreamed and do things in your life that you've never imagined. His glory
is rising upon His people. Things are going to fall into place so that you can accomplish what God has
placed in your heart. Even the hidden dreams that you've given up on, God has not given up on. He is
going to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond all you could ask, think or imagine! Now is the time
to arise and shine in Him!
Your mind may try to talk you out of it, but if you'll listen with your heart, it will resonate on the inside of
you. Don't let discouragement hold you back or keep you down. Rise up every morning and declare, "Today
is the day that the Lord has made." Choose to rejoice in Him. Choose to expect His goodness. Choose to
Heavenly Father, I come to You today with
an open and humble heart. Thank You for
choosing me and for preparing a bright
future for me. I will arise and shine. Let
everything I do bring honor to You. In Jesus'

The Path of the Righteous

"The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of
(Proverbs 4:18, NLTT).

Are you facing a situation that seems dark today? As a believer, God promises that your path will shine
brighter and brighter as you seek His truth and righteousness in every situation in your life.
How do you seek righteousness? Righteousness is simply being in right standing with God. When you
submit your life to Him and choose to obey His commands, you are seeking His righteousness, and you are
on the path of the righteous! Just like today's verse says, the light of God's Word will shine brighter and
brighter and will guide you in every decision you have to make.
Today, take time to ask the Lord to shine His light on you. Ask Him to confirm His plan for you. When you
make His Word a priority in your life, you will experience more of His blessings. You'll see those brighter
days as you move forward in the good plan He has in store for you!
Father God, I know that You have a
wonderful plan and purpose for me. I desire to
be in right standing with You. Show me
Your ways and teach me to walk
righteously before You. Shine Your light in
my heart and give me strength to pursue the
path You have in store for me. In Jesus'

Agreeing with God

"Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?"
(Amos 3:3, NKJ).

Are you going through a difficult time today? We all experience setbacks and obstacles in this life, but
don't make the mistake of allowing those challenges to change your perspective. You can't go around
thinking that those problems are insurmountable because negative thinking will keep you in bondage.
Did you know that when you're negative, you're in agreement with the enemy? But when you have a
positive attitude according to what the Word says, then you're in agreement with God. You and God are
a majority. When you agree with God, all things are possible.
Today, instead of going around thinking about your problems, cast down those thoughts and start
dwelling on the fact that Almighty God, the Creator of the universe is on your side. Declare today that no
weapon formed against you shall prosper. Declare that He is fighting your battles. Declare that victory is
on its way. Get into agreement with God and pave the way for His supernatural blessing in your life.
Father God, thank You for Your truth that
sets me free. I choose to submit my thoughts to
You and come into agreement with Your
Word. Help me to keep my mind stayed on
You and Your victory no matter what may

Find Peace Today

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You"
(Isaiah 26:3, NKJ)

Do you need more peace in your life today? Are you frustrated or upset over something or fighting off
discouragement? The first question to ask yourself is "What am I thinking about?"
If you're thinking about your problems all the time or how impossible everything is, then your life is going to
follow that negative direction. But, when you get your mind going in the right direction, when you focus your
mind on the Word of God, then you are setting yourself in the direction of peace.
Today, choose to keep your mind focused on the Father. Be empowered by meditating on His Word. As you
set your thoughts in the right direction, your life will head down the path of peace and victory He has in
store for you!
Heavenly Father, thank You for peace
today. I receive it as a comforting blanket to
my heart, my mind and my emotions. I
choose to focus on Your Word today. Direct
my steps and guard me by Your peace. In

Established in Love

"May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love"
(Ephesians 3:17, AMP)

Did you know there is tremendous power in love? In the same way that a tree will grow taller and stronger
when its roots grow deep, you will be stronger and rise higher when you are rooted and established in love.
How do you establish yourself in love? It starts with a choice. When you say "yes" to love, you are saying
"yes" to everything God is because God is love! Then, choose to operate in love according to 1 Corinthians
13. That means being patient and kind. It means not seeking your own way, not being jealous or boastful.
When you choose love instead of choosing your own way, you are showing the world that God is first place in
your life. You are establishing yourself in love. The more you choose to walk in love, the deeper and stronger
your roots will grow.
Remember, love is the greatest thing, and it is all that will last in eternity. Choose to establish yourself in love
and let it be firm within you. Let His love build security in you and empower you to live the life of blessing He
has in store for you.
Heavenly Father, I choose to be established
in Your love. Show me how to love others the
way You love me. Thank You for setting me
free and empowering me to live the good life

New Times and Seasons

"He changes times and seasons..."
(Daniel 2:21, NIV)

God is always looking to take us to higher levels. He wants us to grow and increase in every area. Change is
often a catalyst for growth in our lives, and it keeps up from getting stuck in a rut. To help keep us on our
path toward our destiny, God will supernaturally open and close doors of opportunity. He will "stir us" out of
comfortable situations and stretch us because He loves us too much to allow us to live in mediocrity.
Do you know how an eaglet learns to fly? That mother eagle will take her eaglet to the very highest point—
way out of its comfort zone—and then she just releases it. As the eaglet falls, the mother swoops down and
picks it back up again. She does this over and over until the eaglet spreads its wings and soars through the
That's what God wants for you today. He wants you to soar in life! You might feel like that eaglet learning to
fly, but know that God is right there with you! He is bringing you new times and seasons so that you will rise
higher and embrace the very best He has in store for you.
Dear God, today I open my heart and mind to
receive all that You have for me. I trust
that You are with me directing my every
step. I embrace Your seasons of change and
thank You for helping me grow and increase

Healing Words

"Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing"
(Proverbs 12:18, NIV)

The Bible tells us that life and death are in the power of our words. We can use our words to build people up
and encourage them, or we can just as easily bring destruction with our words.
When we use our words to bring healing, the Bible says that we are wise. Choose to be wise today and
choose healing words. Look for the best in others and build them up. Choose healing words over gossip;
choose words of freedom and peace over anger and judgment. Let your words encourage the people in your
life by speaking strength, hope and victory.
Remember, words are seeds. When you use your words to bring healing, you'll reap a harvest of health,
strength and life in return. As you are faithful with your words, God will increase your influence. He will increase
His favor and blessing upon you and lead you in the good life He has prepared for you.
Father in heaven, today I choose to be wise
and bring healing to others with my words. I
ask for an increase of Your power and
ability in my life so that I can live to honor
You in all I do. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Friend of God

"…Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, and he was called God's friend"
(James 2:23, NIV)

The all-knowing, all-powerful Creator of the universe wants to be your friend today! He wants to walk with
you, talk with you and simply share life with you. That's why He created you, first and foremost, for His
fellowship. It's as simple as opening your heart of faith to Him just like Abraham did.
The Bible says that God is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. That means He is always faithful and
true. People may let you down, but God will never let you down. He will never leave you. He will never
forsake you. He is with you always. He is mindful of you; He is always thinking of you.
What an honor and privilege it is to be called God's friend! Let that sink down into your heart today. The next
time the enemy tries to tell you that you are alone in this world, or no one understands what you are going
through, just say out loud, "I am a friend of God." With God as your friend, He'll lead you and walk with you
down the path of victory!
Heavenly Father, thank You for being my
friend today. Thank You for loving me and
being faithful to me. Help me understand
Your friendship today so that I can be a
better friend to those around me. In Jesus'

Cleansed and Set Apart

"…But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by
the Spirit of our God"
(1 Corinthians 6:11, NIV)

Do you know how valuable you are to God today? Not only did He pay a precious price in order to have a
relationship with you; He cleansed you, set you apart, and made you brand new.
Think of it this way, if you saved your money and purchased a very rare and valuable piece of jewelry, you
wouldn't just leave it around the house or office. You probably wouldn't wear it to the gym or to work in the
yard. You wouldn't let your children play with it. No, you would set it apart and protect it. You would polish it,
keep it clean and show it off on special occasions. You would handle it carefully because it's valuable.
Friend, understand today that you are valuable to Almighty God. He handles you carefully. As a follower of
Jesus, He has set you apart for a specific purpose. He is proud of you. You are His most prized treasure. Let
that sink down into your heart today. Meditate on His goodness as you realize your worth in Him!
Father in heaven, thank You for loving me.
Thank You for choosing me and setting me
apart for Your glory. I receive Your love
today and invite You to have Your way in

Forget What Lies Behind

"…But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind straining toward what is ahead"
(Philippians 3:13, NIV)

Are you determined to forget what lies behind? I know many people don't fully understand what it means to
forget the past. They wonder, "How can I forget something that's happened to me?" But one definition of the
word forget is to disregard intentionally or to overlook. See, you have to intentionally disregard your past so
that it doesn't keep you from moving forward. That means the good and the bad. Sometimes our past victories
keep us from rising higher as much as past failures. If we don't let go of the old, we'll never be able to embrace
the new.
Remember, it doesn't matter what's happened in your history, it's time to forget what lies behind. Make the
choice today to press forward. Trust that God has a better future in store for you. Trust that He's working
behind the scenes on your behalf. As you intentionally disregard what lies behind and press forward, I believe
God will pour out His favor, grace and blessing upon you and lead you into the abundance He has prepared for
Father in heaven, I choose to forget the past
today. I don't want anything to hold me
back from the future You have prepared for
me. I choose forgiveness and ask that You
help me, by Your Spirit, to press forward in
every area of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
It's No Surprise to God

"But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph…"
(2 Corinthians 2:14, AMP)

In life, we all have to deal with the unexpected. Just because we're believers, just because we're good
people or doing the right thing doesn't make us exempt from trouble. The scripture says, "The rain falls on
the just and the unjust." In times when something unexpected happens, or you find yourself facing a crisis,
you don't have to go into "panic mode" or fall apart emotionally. Remember, that crisis is no surprise to God.
It may be unexpected to you, but God knows the end from the beginning. He has solutions to problems that
you haven't even had. He has equipped you for every battle, and He goes before you making your crooked
places straight.
Today, focus on the fact that He is with you. Remember that He is walking with you and guiding you to a
place of peace and victory. No matter what has happened, He will take what the enemy meant for evil and
turn it around for your good! He always leads us in victory, so keep moving forward trusting in the good plan
He has for you!
Heavenly Father, I come to You with an
open and humble heart. I thank You for the
victory that You have in store for me even
when I can't see it. I choose to trust You and
Your goodness knowing that You are

Just Imagine

When was the last time you imagined God doing something supernatural in your life? Is there a relationship
that needs restoration? Is there a business you've wanted to start, but you are holding back? If there were
no limitations on your life, if anything were possible, what would you be willing to imagine?
Friend, the only limits on your life are the limits you have in your mind, and God wants to do exceedingly
more than you can even imagine today! He wants to overwhelm you with His goodness and amaze you with
His faithfulness. But in order for Him to exceed what you've imagined, you have to at least be imagining
something! Why don't you take a step of faith today and let your imagination come to life? Begin to see in
your mind all the possibilities for your future. Meditate on the amazing things God has done throughout
history. Let that seed of faith take root in your heart. Hold on to His promises because He is faithful. He is
able to exceed your expectations and go beyond what you can imagine today!
Father God, thank You for Your goodness and

He's Working on Your Behalf

Isn't it good to know that God is working behind the scenes in your life, today? No matter what you may be
facing, no matter what trial you may be going through, God has a plan to turn things around in your favor. You
are called according to His purpose; so right now, He is working out a plan for your good. Right now, He is
orchestrating the right people to come across your path. He is orchestrating the right opportunities to open up
to you. You may not see it in the natural, but look with your eyes of faith today. Show your love for the Father
by your obedience to His Word. Come before Him with an open and humble heart trusting that He is guiding
you. Keep standing. Keep believing. Keep hoping. Keep declaring His Word and meditate on His goodness,
knowing that He rewards the people who seek after Him.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your
faithfulness in my life. Thank You for
working all things together for my good. Give
me Your strength and peace today and fill
me with Your faith which overcomes the

In this day and age, people are considered to be important for so many different reasons—titles, position,
possessions, where you go, what you drive. But God’s value system is very different from the value system
of the world. God cherishes and values you so much today simply because He made you. You are the apple
of His eye; the center of His world!
If you’ve ever thought that God has too many other important things on His plate to be concerned with you
and your life, know this today—you are God’s number one priority. And there’s nothing you can do to be
more important or less important to Him. He values you today and your value will never change. You are
significant. Your life is significant. The things that concern you, concern God. He carefully watches over every
detail of your life, and there is nothing too big or too small for His attention.
Today, don’t be afraid to take your concerns and cares to the Father. He loves to hear you call upon Him. He
is waiting to show Himself strong on your behalf.
Father in heaven, thank You for loving me

New Garments

“Provide for those who grieve...a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of
righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor”

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Do you need a new garment today? I’m not talking about a physical garment. I’m talking about what’s
covering your mind and emotions. Are you clothed with despair and disappointment? Are you wearing ”
heaviness?” If you’ve gone through a hurtful situation, the Bible says there is a time to grieve, and it’s
important to release that hurt to the Lord. But the Bible also tells us that God wants to give you a garment
of praise instead of a spirit of heaviness and despair.
Are the garments of yesterday weighing you down and holding you back? It’s time for a new garment. The
garment of praise is light and filled with peace and joy. Don’t carry those heavy burdens around anymore.
Choose to forgive those who have hurt you and praise God for what He’s doing in your life today. If nothing
else, start thanking Him for the beautiful sunrise. Thank him for restoring you, even if you don’t see it yet.
Just like this verse says, you will be as strong and secure as a tall oak tree, displaying His splendor all the
days of your life!
Heavenly Father, I come to You today and
ask that You take off my old, heavy
garments of despair and heaviness. Make me
new today. Give me a garment of praise so
that I can be a display of Your glory and
splendor. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Stir Up Your Dreams

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you...”
(2 Timothy 1:6, NKJ)

Do you need some freshness in your life today? You may simply need to stir up what God has placed on the
inside of you. Stir up those gifts, stir up those dreams, stir up those talents inside. Start stretching yourself.
You were created to be a dreamer and to pursue the desires God has placed in your heart.
The Scripture tells us that without vision, people perish. If you don’t have a dream or vision for your life, you’
re not really going to reach your fullest potential. Maybe at one time you had a dream, but you went through
some disappointments or setbacks. Things didn’t turn out the way you planned. But here’s a key: when one
dream dies, dream another dream. Just because it didn’t work out the way you had it planned doesn’t mean
that God doesn’t have another plan. You cannot allow one disappointment or even a series of
disappointments to convince you that your dream is over. It’s time to dig your heals in and hold on to the
promises in your heart. Stir up those God-given dreams today and watch Him pour out His favor and blessing
upon you and fulfill every desire in your heart!
Father in heaven, I come humbly to You. I
give You my past, my disappointments, my
brokenness. Fill me with Your hope and
desires that You have in store for my life. In

When Weeds Spring Up

“Jesus told them another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But
while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away’ ”
(Matthew 13:24, NIV)

Jesus is telling a parable in Matthew 13 about a man who went out to his field and planted wheat in the
ground. He sowed good seed. This represents that he was doing the right thing, honoring God with his life,
and being good to others. But while he slept, an enemy came in and planted weeds. The man didn’t know
what had happened. He was expecting to have a great harvest; after all, he did all the right things. But the
weeds sprang up among his wheat.
Sometimes, things happen in life. Weeds spring up that we didn’t have anything to do with. The key is to keep
the right attitude and keep focusing on the goodness of God. When these unexpected challenges happen, we
can say, “It’s just another weed. I didn’t sow it. I don’t have to reap it.” Then we can keep the door open for
God to move on our behalf.
Today, don’t let the weeds take root. Don’t let discouragement creep in. Instead, lift up your eyes of faith to
what your father God can do for you. Keep believing, keep praying, and keep hoping because your harvest is
on the way!
Father God, thank You for the truth
of Your Word which sets me free.
Help me to keep my heart and mind
focused on You. Give me Your peace
as I focus on the harvest that You
have for my future. In Jesus’ Name.
One Thought at a Time

“...take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”
(2 Corinthians 10:5, NIV)

Transforming something in your life whether it’s your attitude, mindset, financial situation or bringing change
into a relationship can seem like an overwhelming task. But as the old saying goes, “How do you eat an
elephant? One bite at a time.” Likewise, the way you change your life is one thought at a time.
Your thoughts set the direction of your life. If you need to change the direction you are headed, you simply
need to change your thoughts in that area. When a thought comes to your mind that “you’re never going to
get well; this is your lot in life,” don’t dwell on that. Don’t sit around and have a pity party. No, immediately
reject it and replace it with God’s Word. Just say, “Father, You said in Isaiah, ‘By the stripes of Jesus I am
healed.’ You said in Jeremiah, ‘You would restore health unto me.’ So Father, I thank You that I’m coming out of
this in the name of Jesus.”
I encourage you to be aggressive in taking every single thought and making it obedient to Christ. Stay
determined, stay focused and keep declaring His Word because you can change your life, one thought at a
Father God, thank You for empowering me
today to become better, stronger, more alive
and blessed. I receive Your Word as truth
and choose to change my life one thought at
a time. Thank You for leading me and
guiding me by Your Spirit. In Jesus’ Name.
Sudden Breakthroughs

“...the Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like the bursting out of great waters...”
(2 Samuel 5:20, AMP)

God wants to give you a breakthrough — a sudden burst of His favor; an explosion of His goodness. He wants
to release His power in such a way that it overwhelms you and drives out your enemies!
Maybe you’ve been praying about a relationship for years; and suddenly, things get into place. That’s a
breakthrough. Or, you were trying to get a certain job. They said there were no openings; but suddenly, they
call you back and you get the job. That’s another breakthrough. Perhaps you’ve struggled with an addiction
for a long time; but then something happens, and it’s not a struggle anymore. Those are all breakthroughs.
No matter what you’ve been facing, no matter how impossible things look, know this: the God of the
breakthrough wants to visit your house. Get ready! Look for His favor and goodness. Remember, God rewards
the people who seek after Him. So keep expecting, keep believing because the God of the breakthrough is
ready to overwhelm you with His goodness today!  
Your goodness. I am looking for Your favor. I’
Father in heaven, today I am expecting m
trusting that You, the God of the
breakthrough, are working mightily on my
behalf. Help me to live a life pleasing to You
as I wait for Your hand to move mightily in

Think On These Things

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things”
(Philippians 4:8, NIV)

God wants you to be blessed in every area of your life. The Bible says that Jesus came so that you and I could
have life more abundantly, but it all starts in your thinking. That’s why the scripture tells us very clearly what
we should be thinking about — things that are noble, right, lovely, pure and praiseworthy. In other words,
when a thought comes to your mind that you’re never going to be successful, replace it by saying, “Father,
You said in Proverbs that if I would put You first, You would crown my efforts with success. You said in the
Psalms that You surround me with favor like a shield. You said in Deuteronomy that Your blessings would
chase me down and overtake me!” That’s how you take every thought captive, one thought at a time!
Today, refuse to allow any negative thoughts to take up space in your mind. Stay on the offensive and
choose to think on the right things. Fill your heart and mind with the Word of God and open the door for His
hand of blessing in every area of your life!
Father God, thank You for Your truth
which sets me free. I choose to meditate on
Your goodness and think on the right things.

Dream Another Dream

“...No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love
(1 Corinthians 2:9, NLT)

What are the dreams and desires that you have for your future? Maybe you had some big dreams in the past,
but things didn’t go the way you planned. So you put them aside and settled for status quo. We’ve all had
disappointments and setbacks, but today is a new day, and we serve a God who makes all things new!
Let me challenge you to dig deep and dare to have a big dream for your life. I always say, when one dream
dies, dream another dream. Don’t just settle for mediocrity, we serve a God who is above and beyond
anything we can think of, and He wants to manifest His greatness through you. Remember, there’s nothing
you can dream that God can’t do. Why don’t you ask Him to bring you the right people, the right opportunities,
and the right resources? Trust that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Dare to believe and dare
to dream another dream because He desires to do big things in and through you in this New Year!
Father in heaven, thank You for a new day
to praise Your name. I dedicate myself to You
fresh and anew. Lead me in the ways of my
heart; help me to find that new dream, and
let everything I do bring glory to You. In

"Be Numbered Among The Undevourable"

The devil cannot just walk right up to you and rob you of your health, peace or family. He cannot just come
into your life to enforce disease and destruction. If the devil can do that, then he does not have to walk
about “seeking whom he may devour”. He only has to walk straight up to anyone he wants to devour and
devour him! But since the Bible says that he goes about seeking whom he may devour, the truth then is that
there are people whom he cannot devour.
You see, the devil goes about like a roaring lion trying to stir up fear in people with his roars. But the people
who are not devourable are those who refuse to be intimidated by his roars because they know that the
true Lion of Judah, Jesus Christ (Revelation 5:5), has already come and rendered powerless him who had the
power of death. (Hebrews 2:14, NASB) They know that the devil cannot just do anything to them because
the Lion of Judah resides in them, and that He is greater than the devil who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
My friend, the Lion of Judah is in you. He has given you rights, privileges, authority and power. He redeemed
you with His blood. Therefore, everything about you and your life is redeemed by His blood. So if you are
fearful about losing your job, cover your job with the blood of Jesus. If you are worried about your children’s
safety in these days of terrorist attacks, plead the blood of Jesus over them. If you have received a bad
report from the doctor, speak the blood over yourself. Whatever you have covered with the blood of Jesus,
God declares, “Protected! Redeemed!” And the devil flees when he sees the blood. And when he flees, he
takes with him sicknesses, diseases, pains, sufferings, destruction and loss.
Once the devil knows that you know who you are in Christ and what you have in Him, his days of intimidating
you are over, and you are numbered among the undevourable!
Thought Of The Day - Everything about you
and your life is redeemed by Jesus' blood.

Step in to Your Season

“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart”
(Galatians 6:9, NKJ)

This year, I believe, is going to be a year of great harvest for many people. Maybe you’ve been facing some
difficulties. Remember, great difficulties lead to great victories. Maybe you’ve felt like the storms of life have
been blowing against you, trying to hold you back. I believe this year that the winds are changing direction,
and now they are going to start propelling you forward. Due season is coming. It’s not time to sit back. It’s
not time to let up. It’s time to press forward. It’s time to rise up! Don’t grow weary while doing good. Keep
doing good and don’t lose heart because it’s your time, and it’s your season!
By faith begin to declare, “2011 is my year! I’m stepping into a new season. I’m letting go of what didn’t work
out. I’m putting on a new attitude and enlarging my vision. I’m going to go into this year with a new fire and
greater expectancy. I’m pressing forward to step into my season!”
Heavenly Father, thank You for the truth
of Your Word which sets me free. I declare by
faith that my due season is here. I will
stand strong, I will keep believing, I will
keep praying, I will stay faithful to Your
Word. Thank You for the harvest of blessing
in store for me in my future. In Jesus’ Name.
You Haven’t Seen Anything Yet!

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared
for those who love Him”
(1 Corinthians 2:9, NKJV)

Today’s verse is really an encouragement for all of us to raise our level of expectancy! It’s like God is saying to
us, “You think you’re blessed? You haven’t seen anything yet!” And I’m sure God has been good to you, but
He also has things for your future that, if He told you right now, would boggle your mind. You wouldn’t even
believe it.
If you would have told me twelve years ago while I was working behind the scenes at my parent’s church that
one day I would be a minister in front of many people and have our services in the former Compaq Center
where I used to watch the Rockets play basketball, I would have said, “You’ve totally lost your mind!” At the
time, I could not even fathom that! Friend, that is how God wants to bless you in your future. He wants to
overwhelm you with His goodness and with things so wonderful you can’t even fathom it!
Today, get ready for increase. Get prepared for promotion. This year is the year to step into blessings you can’
t even imagine. Keep believing, keep obeying His Word and keep your heart and mind open to what He has
for you because you haven’t seen anything yet!
Father God, today I raise my level of
expectancy. I choose to take the limits off of
my thinking. I know that You are able to do
exceedingly, abundantly above all I could
ever ask, think or imagine. Thank You for
the blessing You have in store for me in 2011!

The Wind is Blowing

“...‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty”
(Zechariah 4:6, NIV)

Are you struggling or striving to make something happen? Maybe you need a breakthrough in your finances
or in a relationship. It’s good to do everything we know to do in the natural, but we have to always
remember that victory doesn’t come by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the living God.
One translation says, “It’s by the breath of Almighty God.” When you know God is breathing in your direction
and dare to take a leap of faith and say, “Yes, this is my time; I’m going to accomplish my dreams,” that’s
when you will feel a wind beneath your wings. That’s when you’ll feel a supernatural lift, an anointing that
will help you accomplish what you could not accomplish on your own.
Today, know that the wind of God is blowing. This is your season. This is your time to believe again. Believe
that God can open doors that no man can shut. Believe that He is working behind the scenes in your favor.
Believe that it’s your season, it’s your time and get ready to embrace every blessing He has in store for you!
